The cost of a typical wedding

Planning a wedding can be expensive.
The typical American wedding is now approximately $30,000.
The largest part of that goes towards the reception, followed by the Engagement and Wedding Rings.

According to Conde’ Nast Bridal Group American Wedding Study 2006, the total amount spent on weddings in the US consisted of:

Honeymoons $8 billion
Diamond Engagement Rings: $7 billion
Wedding Registries: $19 billion

In 2005, there were 295 million wedding guests attending the 2.1 million weddings in that year.

As you can tell from the figures, weddings have a big impact on the economy as well as the environment.
